Located just outside of the City of Pittsburgh, the Keystone Oaks School District serves the communities of Castle Shannon, Dormont and Green Tree. The District spans 4.5 square miles and has a population of more than 21,000.
The three municipalities are walkable, mixed-use communities with easy access to restaurants, specialty shops and other commercial establishments. In addition to the recreational facilities and parks located in each community, those who live in the Keystone Oaks School District are just minutes away from the cultural amenities of the City of Pittsburgh and destinations such as Heinz Field, PNC Park, PPG Paints Arena, Station Square, the Golden Triangle and the Cultural District, all of which are easily accessed by Pittsburgh Regional Transit, which includes both light rail and and bus transportation.

The Keystone Oaks School District has three elementary schools for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Fred L. Aiken Elementary School serves students who reside in Green Tree Borough; Dormont Elementary School serves students who reside in Dormont Borough; and Myrtle Avenue Elementary School serves students who reside in the Borough of Castle Shannon.

Keystone Oaks Middle School and Keystone Oaks High School share a campus located just outside of Dormont, in Mt. Lebanon, PA. Combined, the Middle & High School serve approximately 1,000 students in grades six through twelve.
