Letter from the Superintendent: Clarification regarding a proposed transit-oriented development project in Dormont Borough

Good afternoon, Keystone Oaks Families, 

I am providing clarification regarding a proposed transit-oriented development project in Dormont Borough. 

At this time, neither the Keystone Oaks School District Administration nor the Keystone Oaks Board of School Directors have been engaged in any capacity regarding a proposed transit-oriented development project in Dormont Borough. 

According to information publicly available on their website, in June, Dormont Borough Council voted to enter into a negotiation period with a development partner, Pennrose LLC, to design a mixed-use development on the Dormont Junction site. At this time, the Keystone Oaks School District Administration and the Keystone Oaks Board of School Directors have not been contacted by Pennrose LLC. regarding a proposed project and have not had any discussions related to this project. Additionally, there have not been any action items related to this project on any past agendas and there aren’t any discussion items related to this project on the agenda for any upcoming school board meetings. 

If this proposed project moves forward with the District being contacted by Pennrose LLC, we will keep you informed of those updates.
